Joe Root could be the deciding factor in India vs England series.

Today was a very special day for Root as he was playing his 100th test match for the country as emotions were high and he produces a one more magical innings on his historic day as he scored his 20th test century on his 100th test.

Joe Root looked in very good touch on Day 1 of a test match which is a very alarming sign for India in the upcoming test series as Joe root could be the deciding factor in this series. The way he played spin on Chennai wicket which always favours spin bowling since it's inception was remarkable to watch. Even after completing his century on his historic test he still looking good on unbeaten 128 as now he has plans to put team total close to 700 for England. After the close of the day, when media asked him a question regarding his emotions playing on his 100th test match for the country, Joe replied, "I was a little bit emotional [at the toss]. I couldn't even remember our team when they asked me about it. I was a little bit all over the place, but thankfully when I got out there, I knew it was business as normal and I had a job to do".

When asked as what will be the approach of him and his team on Day 2, Joe Root confirmed that England is now looking to put 600-700 runs on board in the 1st innings.

"We've got to look to try and get as many as we can - 600, 700 if we can, really try and make the most of the first innings while it's good," Root said. "Those footholes are starting to wear quite quickly. So, if we can bat the whole of tomorrow and maybe into day three, then things could speed up quite quickly for us and you never know what can happen from that point onwards," he said.

After seeing Joe bat on Day 1, it is pretty much cleared that he could be the deciding factor in this series and India will be wary of the fact that if he keeps making run on this dry and dusty wickets, it gonna be some tough upcoming days for the Indian team.
