Top Five Unknown Cricketer who everyone wanna know about after the IPL Auction.
Shahrukh Khan was reportedly named after the Bollywood superstar and he was a swimming champion at the junior level as well.He got a bid of Rs 5.25 Crores by Punjab kings.
He got in the limelight just before the IPL when he scored a 37 ball century in Syed mushtaq ali trophy which fetched him a IPL contract.
2. Mohammad Azharuddeen- One of those batsmen who caught the eye in this year’s Syed Mushtaq Ali trophy was 22-year-old Kerala batsman Azharuddin. His route to fame was a sensational 37-ball century against Mumbai. Named after former India captain, Azharuddeen’s average of 25.91 in 22 First Class games and 22.25 in 24 List A matches, is not impressive but he played a knock that could well prove to be life-changing.
He was picked by RCB at a base price of 20 lacs rupees.
3. Riley Meredith - He is famously remembered for giving away 17 runs in one ball in a T20 match.
Meredith had listed his base price at INR 40 lakh but the uncapped Australian player attracted a bidding war between Delhi Capitals and Punjab Kings when his name was drawn. Though DC and Punjab Kings engaged in an intense bidding war, the Australian youngster was eventually signed by the Punjab side for 8 Crores.
Meredith was a star performer for the Hobart Hurricanes side in the Big Bash League. In 34 games for the Hurricanes, he has bagged 43 wickets at an average of 23.60 and an economy rate of 8.06.
4. Krishnapa Gowtham - The 32-year-old Karnataka all-rounder is not new to IPL, having played for multiple teams, most recently Punjab Kings. Chennai Super Kings found merit in his ability to spin the ball and come up with big shots when required. He has dismissed India skipper Virat Kohli too a couple of times with his off-spin.
Gowtham had previously played for RR and Kings XI Punjab in the IPL where he had done reasonably well but everyone is shocked by the amount of money given to him by CSK.Gowtham was picked up at 9.25 crores in IPL auction.
5. Kyle Jamieson - New Zealand’s Kyle Jamieson has had a fantastic 2020 since he made his international debut against India.kyle got a bid of 15 crores in a IPL which had shocked everyone.
Jamieson is primarily a fast bowler but is also a very reliable lower-order batsman. He has played a total of 6 limited-overs matches for New Zealand in his short career, but the format where he has impressed the most is Tests, where he has 36 wickets in just six games. The real test for Kyle will be that he has never played in testing condition like India and it will be a challenge for him to play in such a high profile tournament.
