According to Indian Cricket Fans, This is a Revenge match !
After a thumping series win in England, Kane Williamson’s New Zealand side achieved number one spot in ICC Test rankings. Blackcaps dethroned Team India from the number one spot. India is now ranked second with 121 points while New Zealand have 123 points.
This win will boost the confidence of New Zealand as they will be facing India on June 18 for the final of the World Test Championship. With the second game-ending on Day-4, the New Zealand side got another day to rest and be fit for the final.
India and New Zealand would look to outsmart each other when the teams square off in the ICC Test World Championship (WTC) final, which starts June 18 at The Ageas Bowl, Southampton.ICC WTC was played in two years cycle and the two teams at the top of the points table qualified for the final. India finished at the top of the points table with 12 wins in 17 matches while New Zealand won 7 out of 7 matches it played.
Analysing the Batting of Both Sides
India batting look's in much better shape than the New Zealand side.India's leading duo, Virat Kohli and Cheteshwar Pujara, look a safer bet than Kane Williamson and Ross Taylor right now, while Rohit Sharma brings plenty of experience, and Rishabh Pant is not far removed from a breakout tour of Australia. With Williamson and BJ Watling battling injuries and Taylor in a worrying rut heading in to the second test, the advantage goes to Kohli and co in this one.
With batting genius Kohli in the Indian side, they narrowly shade New Zealand, but it's close. Even if India lose wickets around Kohli, you can never rest easy until he's back in the dressing room. Pujara is an absolute rock at three and boasts a wonderful test record. While some of the other top order players haven't scored the same amount of runs or hundreds as Kohli and Pujara, they are capable of making a significant impact with the bat if they get set and survive the new ball onslaught.
Without a doubt, India batting have an edge over New Zealand.
Analysing Bowling of Both Sides
India boast a strong pace battery, which, according to former New Zealand captain Brendon McCullum, makes them one of the strongest Test teams.
Former Australian pacer Brett Lee though believes New Zealand might have an advantage over India in the eagerly-awaited World Test Championship final in English conditions as the Black Caps are more accustomed to conditions favourable for swing bowling.
Indian bowling look's good in this conditions but New Zealand bowling have variety along with quality.Tim Southee and Trent boult deadly combo to start off with will be a huge challenge along with back up bowlers like Kylie Jamieson and Neil Wagner who are in great form too.
India bowling with the lights of Ishant Sharma, Shami and Bumrah is also looking good but lack of match practice to start off in English conditions will be a challenge for Indian bowlers to adjust their length in this conditions.
Without a doubt, New Zealand bowling have an edge over India.
Conclusions
Key Blackcaps bowlers are back in form as Boult picked a five-wicket haul in the first innings of the second Test while Wagner and Henry were also amongst wickets. Tim Southee bowled exceptionally well in the first game of the series while their veteran batsman Taylor is also in form. Debutant Conway has shown that he belongs to this level with a double ton in the first game.
If we see India team they look perfectly balanced in all departments batting, bowling and fielding while New Zealand look's exceptional with their bowling line up and form and batting look's average as usual.Similiar to the ICC World Cup 2019 event when they defended a medicore score pretty well with their bowling line up.
