Woman Cricket is another Big thing in the making !!!!

Gone were the days when there was empty stands, medicore cricket and no buzz around woman cricket. Things now have changed drastically, thanks to the introduction of shortest format of the game. 

It was exactly 14 years back when cricket australia launched Woman big bash league attracting stars woman player around the globe. After recording record ratings and good response from sponsors, cricket fraternity realised that yes woman cricket has commercial viability as well through shortest format of game. 


After taking clue from cricket Australia, hundred was launched by England cricket board for woman cricket as well couple of year's back. The tournament received descent response from sponsors and viewers.Even ICC pushed for inclusion of woman cricket in Commonwealth games this year which got a very good response from fans and sponsors. 

It was not long back when we saw a record 86,174 spectators watching T20 cricket world Cup finals between Australia and India at MCG on woman's day. 


Inspite of having good response in recent times, Cricket fraternity has been surprised why a woman IPL has yet not been played and why there hasn't been great response in cricket frenzy country like India. 

Thing's got interesting last night when we saw a attendance of 25,000 cricket fans watching a T20 match between India and Australia at DY Patil stadium in Navi Mumbai. BCCI is expecting a record crowd of 30,000 plus spectators on Sunday watching a woman cricket. 

With the response woman cricket has got recently in shortest format of the game hasn't been short of miracle and I see woman cricket is the next big thing which will happen to cricket.
