Sachin Tendulkar, Brian Lara and Jonty Rhodes are back in action playing T20 cricket in Raipur !



The much anticipated Road Safety World Series tournament which got cancelled last year after few matches due to Covid is scheduled to commence from 2nd March 2021. The lights of Tendulkar, Lara, Jonty, Muttiah Muriltharan, Brett lee and other legends from Southafrica, Srilanka, Australia, India and West Indies will compete in the tournament which was started with the initiative to spread awareness regarding road safety.

Last year when the tournament was called off due to Covid midway, it got a good response from fans in initial matches as Wankhede stadium was sold out in few games in which Indian team was playing. The match between India and Srilanka drew huge attention last year as it turned out to be a nail bitter but eventually Irfan Pathan and Mohammad Kaif seeing India home safely while chasing in Wankhede stadium.

Who Started World Road Safety Series Tournament?

The Road Safety World Series is an initiative by Road Safety Cell of Maharashtra in association with Professional Management Group (PMG) spearheaded by Sunil Gavaskar, who is the Commissioner of the Series, and Tendulkar, who is the brand ambassador. Ravi Gaikwad is the founder of the world safety series tournament. 

Where and When will the Remaining matches of the 1st edition of the World Road safety tournament will be held?

The remaining matches of the tournament will commence on 2nd March 2021 and conclude on March 2021 in Raipur, Chattisgarh. The organisers on Tuesday (February 9) announced that all the remaining matches will be played in the newly-built 65,000 capacity Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Cricket Stadium in Raipur.

When will the matches start and which are the channels?

All matches will begin at 7:00 PM IST and will be broadcast live on COLORS Cineplex, COLORS Kannada Cinema and DD Sports along with VOOT and Jio, which are the digital partners.

Where can one book the tickets?

Tickets to the matches will go live exclusively on BookMyShow. Prices of tickets range from INR 50 to INR 500 giving fans a chance to catch their favourite players and team live in action. Part of the proceeds from ticket sales will be utilised towards creating awareness towards road safety in the country.
